The architectural team at MHTN Architects, inc. used the Draper Library's interior and exterior structures to teach, incorporate the communities farming history, and connect visitors with the surrounding environment. In efforts to achieve these goals a basic criteria of using recycled content was established. Carpet, steel structure, roof deck, ceiling tiles, metal wall studs, brick, exterior metal wall panels, batt insulation, and aluminum window systems are just a few items used not normally considered for recycling use. The interior space was designed to be highly functional with the latest technology. While the vaulted ceilings and salvaged barnwood whisper hints of Draper's farming community.
